Police Brutality in Stellenbosch Pubs

For those of you not really in touch with people in Stellenbosch I would like to give a brief update. Last saturday night to cops decided to do a bit of a drugs-sweep in the the Stellenbosch pubs after 12am. What followed was a nightmare of unwarranted police brutality. In the end they found only 150g of Dagga despite sweeping 3 pubs. What resulted was a number of students being knocked about and as you will be able to see on the footage, a gun being fired in a crowded pub where no-one was resisting. You will also see female students being searched by males and in one instance peppersprayed in the face even though she was sitting down, and then thrown across the floor. the cops are stupid enough to deny all of this though... they obviously dont know how to use a search engine.

Anyone that has any brains and knows Stellenbosch would have told you that they wouldn't find hard-drugs in the pubs. The stellenbosch students that do that tend to go to city to and get their rocks off. From the behavior of the cops, who apparently all thought they were Jack Bauer, they should maybe have checked the police vehicles for tik.
Rumour has it that one of Ruda Landman's son was apparently one of the guys who was knocked about, so expect a tell all doccie on Carte Blanche soon.

this is apparently not the first time it has happened though. AFter the last time the pub owners learned their lesson and installed CCTV cameras to document anything that might happen which found its way on Youtube pretty quickly. So have a look, and just a warning, although not graphic in content, it is definetely schocking and more the type of behavior that you would expect in places like Burma.
But the biggest question is here? Does it surprise anyone? Are you surprised that our police are made up mostly by a bunch of incompetent fools who all seem to choose to ignore the big crimes and go apeshit on the small things. Are you surprised that a decidedly white, DA-voting university's pubs was targeted? Are you surprised that they use unnecessary force when none would have been necessary? No, Keystone Cops my friends, Keystone Cops. What can you expect from idiots who cant seem to find 4th gear in their cars? anyway, enough of my rants. Enjoy the weekend!

Edit: A few people have taken me on about this and say that the students were stupid, they should have listened to the cops when they told them do what they said and lastly, the cops need to get a bit rough to get results sometimes.
The question i would like to ask these people is where do you draw the line? At a few students that might have a bit of dope on them? At a few people protesting in the street against something? At opposition parties who do not agree with the way you run the country? At another country who have a shiteload of oil that you could use but might just have some WMD's hidden somewhere.
The line is not something that should be moved whenever you feel it should suit you.
